I am a freelance graphic artist based in North Carolina with eight years experience of developing album covers, websites, books and magazine spreads.

After earning a BA (Hons) Degree in Graphic Design at Nottingham Trent University I now continue my lifelong interest in creative visual communication. My work is constantly influenced by my own self-initiated projects producing experimental and expressive imagery. I put great emphasis on type design and believe in creating new and appropriate text elements for every project.

I have led a number of other creative roles such as art direction and have four years experience as an art & design lecturer. These experiences inform my practice and give me a flexibility that has led to work with diverse clients in Europe and the U.S. including:

+ Design of all promotional materials (posters, postcards, t-shirts and soundtrack album cover) for the film Scott Walker: 30 Century Man.

+ Layout, design and editing of a 300-page book about the band Minutemen to coincide with the release of the film We Jam Econo.

+ Album cover designs for the Too Pure, Beggars Banquet and 4AD record labels.

+ Art direction of individual projects for the Berlin-based Rostron Records, Lowdown Magazine and Style Mag.

+ Design and sales of my own Les Femmes t-shirt line and design, production and marketing of my own custom badge line; Wear More Buttons.

+ Website design and logo development for photographers Russell Kleyn, Matthew Bunn, film-maker Stephen Kijak, artist Alisia Casper, The Dan Plan and recording artist Geneva Jacuzzi.

+ Production of a series of painted geometric canvases for Estate Design & Trade of Greensboro, NC.

In addition to my design practice I have also worked as a touring and studio musician with Scout Niblett and recorded with engineer Steve Albini. As a drummer I have also made contributions to film soundtracks. You can find a list of every show I've played HERE

I don't consider myself a fine artist, nor do I exhibit my work in galleries, or cafés. Design is NOT about problem solving. Good design is about giving value to something! I do not aim to provide design "solutions" but rather continue the Evolution of the creative process.
