Well, I'm really proud and excited to announce that Frances and I are now engaged!!! I proposed to her at Cape Lookout National Seashore, NC. The Cape is just across the sound from where Frances grew up in Marshallberg, so it seemed an especially appropriate place to ask her.

I think it took Frances completely by surprise as you can probably tell by the self-portrait here. She's wearing the ring that I bought in Los Gatos. Beside myself...

We camped out on the beach under the glow of the lighthouse and in the company of fireflies. It was a really magical night of wonder and one of my better days, of course.

We haven't set an exact date for the wedding but hope it will be sometime in 2010. Watch this space!
